1.Introduction

Lipoic acid can accept the acetyl group of acyl and pyruvate to form a thioester bond, and then transfer the acetyl group to the sulfur atom of coenzyme a molecule. Dihydrothiooctamide, which forms the auxiliary group, can be oxidized by dihydrolipoamide dehydrogenase (NAD +) to form oxidized thiooctamide again. α - lipoic acid has a disulfide five membered ring structure with high electron density, remarkable electron affinity and ability to react with free radicals.
